Appointments
Portuguese I.I. Home || Location and instructors || General information || Resources
In order to see an instructor, you need to make an appointment. Appointments can be scheduled online at iischeduling.org. Walk-ins are not possible, except for returning students during the first week of each quarter.
- Appointments are offered in 15-minute blocks. You may sign up for two appointments back-to-back. You may sign up for no more than two appointments a day, and no more than six appointments a week.
- Appointments will begin and end on time. If you are late, the time you spend with an instructor is reduced, or the instructor may start working with the person scheduled after you.
- If you cannot keep your appointment, you should cancel it online 24 hours in advance. If it is less than 24 hours to your appointment and you cannot make it, you have the option of putting it on the offer board. If another student takes your appointment, then you are no longer responsible for it. However, if nobody takes it, you will be considered a no-show. If you have 2 no–shows, you will lose appointment book privileges for one week. Exception: in case of a documented emergency, your appointment book privilege might not be cancelled. Please bring documentation to an instructor.
- You do not need an appointment to take a test or to listen to a CD. To take a test, go to the front desk and inform the receptionist about your level and module (e.g., 103.51 module 2). Every module test contains a listening comprehension section. You must bring your own headphones in order to listen to the CD. You will need to make an appointment to have your exam graded.
- REMEMBER: You must set deadlines for finishing each module and make the required appointments when you are ready. Those deadlines must be set with an instructor.
