Luana Lamberti is a researcher in the "Vertentes do Português Popular do Estado da Bahia" and "Language and the African Diaspora in Latin America: Afro-Yungueño Spanish and Helvécia Portuguese" projects that are funded by the Universidade Federal da Bahia and OSU. She is a specialist in foreign language teaching and has taught Spanish, Portuguese, and English as additional languages at a variety of institutions. Her fieldwork research in Bahia was awarded by different research centers at the OSU (Center for African Studies, Center for Latin American Studies, and Tinker Foundation) and, currently, her doctoral dissertation is funded by the Presidential Fellowship. She is a member of the Linguistic Society of America, Society for Pidgin & Creole Linguistics, and Abralin.
