Program 60

Program 60, Office of Distance Education and eLearning

To learn more about how to participate in Program 60, available to all Ohio residents age 60 or older, or to add your information to the Program 60 mailing list, contact the Office of Distance Education and eLearning at (614) 292-8860 or visit the ODEE website

Program 60 participants wishing to start in the basic language program must first take the MultiCAT placement test. Please note that a Program 60 student with less than one year of language study or that has had a long hiatus since their last Spanish/Portuguese course may enroll directly into SPAN/PORT 1101.01. Please contact The Center for Languages, Literatures and Cultures (CLLC) at (614) 292-4361 for more information about the MultiCAT placement test.

Once a Program 60 student enrolls in a Spanish or Portuguese language course (i.e., SPAN 1101.01-2202.01 or PORT 1101.01-1103.01), an average of 70% or better is required in order to advance in the sequence. In the event that a student is unable to earn a passing grade in a language course, they may retake the course once. Please note that Program 60 students are expected to abide by all course policies, including, but not limited to, active class participation and completion of course assignments. Lastly, language program attendance policies apply to all Program 60 students. If you have any additional questions, please contact Dr. Richard Henricksen at henricksen.6@osu.edu
