Featuring music of Latin America, Spain and Portugal. Sean Ferguson, SPPO's Music Library librarian, is a member of the group.
This cherished seasonal tradition continues with a new program that transports the audience from the musical centers of Spain and Portugal to the New World destinations of Mexico and South America. As European culture found its way across the Atlantic during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, the musical traditions, rhythms, harmonies and languages co-mingled in fascinating and fresh ways. Join the Early Interval on this celebratory Twelfth Night voyage.
The Early Interval was formed in 1976 and has performed medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music for audiences all over Ohio and beyond. The ensemble performs vocally and on early wind, string, keyboard and percussion instruments. The group has engaged in a wide variety of collaborations with actors and theater companies, dance companies, vocal ensembles, narrators, composers and guest instrumentalists.
