The University of Findlay will be hosting a virtual event on Thursday, October 8th to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The event involves two OSU Department of Spanish and Portuguese alums: John Cruz, who received his Ph.D. in Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies, and Irina Soto-Mejia, who received her M.A. in Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies. John recently accepted a position as Visiting Instructor at the University of Findlay and he has organized this entire event. Irina teaches at Soka University in Japan and she will be giving a talk during the event, "Lives Across Borders and Cultures: Home and Belonging in the Third and Fourth Generation of Japanese in Peru and Venezuela."
