Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

The 2017 Second Language Research Forum is an important international conference taking place at OSU this October 12-15. This year's theme, "Growing Connections in Second Language Research" focuses on links between disciplines and traditions, from sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, and neurocognitive approaches to computer mediated communication. Collaboration can lead to rich insights and facilitate a better understanding of the problematics at play in second language teaching, learning, and use. Interdisciplinarity of this sort is beginning to bridge the gaps amongst methodologies and make it easier to promote understanding of how languages are learned.

This four-day conference will include plenary talks by well-known scholars including Dr. Lourdes Ortega, Dr. Kara Morgan-Short, Dr. Brian MacWhinney, and Dr. Patricia Duff.
