Please join us on April 24th for "Sino-Spanish Comics," a presentation and conversation with Spanish artist, podcaster, and graphic novelist Quan Zhou.

Born and raised in southern Spain to Chinese parents, Quan Zhou brings a transnational perspective her storytelling and social commentary. A pioneering voice in the wave of cultural production by Spaniards reshaping how racialized experiences are represented in Spanish popular culture, Zhou’s publications include Gazpacho Agridulce (2015), Andaluchinas por el mundo (2017), Gente de aquí, gente de allí (2020), and La Agridolce Vita (2023). She hosts the podcast Movidas Varias, and served as the Chair of Spanish Culture and Civilization at the King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center at NYU. At present, Zhou is Artist in Residence at Northwestern University, where she is working on her latest project, LINAJE, and teaching on memory, migration, and digital storytelling.
