The artistic productions representing the migratory experience dramatize the journeys of immigrant subjects in a new social, political and cultural environment. These images and narratives can, in many instances, displace static conceptions of the nation, society, culture and identity. In this presentation, Professor Marcus Brasileiro will discuss the representation of the migratory experience in contemporary Brazilian cinema, particularly in a globalized transnational context.
