SPPO would like to congratulate the graduate student organizers of the 21st Annual Congress on Hispanic and Lusophone Linguistics (OSUCHiLL) and the 21st Annual Hispanic and Lusophone Studies Symposium. 

The conferences drew participants from 13 different states, as well as from Canada and Great Britain; and included twenty panels; and 4 different plenary speakers. The dual events provided opportunities to showcase our department's research, to debate the state of our fields, and to make and strengthen scholarly connections with colleagues here and elsewhere. In sum, the conferences greatly contributed to the intellectual life of our department.
