Campus/Community Latina Collaboration Engages Girls K-12 in Reading Program

This semester Latina faculty members, Theresa Delgadillo, associate professor, comparative studies; Pat Enciso, professor, teaching and learning; Elena Foulis, senior lecturer, Spanish and Portuguese; and graduate students Yalidy Matos, political science; and Maria Barbero, comparative studies, are collaborating with the Columbus community organization, 4L (For Latinas) to host approximately 20 K-12 girls in a weekend reading program that began January 18 and continues through the term. They also are partnering with Ohio State’s Women in Engineering Program and the Ohio Supercomputer Center.
