DANCING WITH DEVILS: Latin American Masks Traditions Autumn 2022 Semester

Dancing with Devils Event Mask

Featuring Latin American festival masks from the Kawsay Ukhunchay Andean and Amazonian Indigenous Arts and Cultural Artifacts Research Collection at The Ohio State University along with documentary photographs of the Diablada de Pillaro (Devils Dance of Pillaro, Ecuador) taken by Ohio State Photojournalist Leonardo Carrizo. Masks on display were donated by OSU alumn Mark Gordon and crafted by Italo Espin. Mask maker Ital Espin and dancer/ethnographer Fernando Endara, residency artists this autumn, present talks, workshops and performances.
