SPPO Faculty member, Dr. Frederick Luis Aldama, recently had a article featured in Latinx Spaces, an online publication that focuses on Latinx media. Dr. Aldama's article, "I Want My Incredible Shrinking Screen: Latinx Televisual Storytelling in the Age of Our Planetary Lockdown", explores  the alternative audiovisual storytelling spaces for Latinx narratives in our world today. These spaces include streaming services that we have all become familiar with - Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube - but Dr. Aldama also considers new platforms, such as Quibi, that will transform Latinx storytelling in an even more radical way. "We're in lockdown across the planet. To get our people and our story daily fix we're spending more and more time in front of our small computer - and smartphone - screens. Bring on the streaming. Bring on the Quibi. It's on our shrunken screens that we will witness the birth of new spaces where we Latinxs can and will tell our stories."
