Get to know SPPO

Celia Martínez-Sáez
The Department of Spanish & Portuguese at Ohio State thrives on the talented individuals that put in countless hours of work each semester. We would like to take a moment to introduce a more personal side of these wonderful folks, the first of which, is Celia Martínez-Sáez. Enjoy!

Celia Martínez-Sáez is a M.A. student (class of 2015) in 20th and 21st Century Iberian Literatures & Cultures.  Her areas of interest include: identity studies, cinema, and cultures with Transatlantic interests.

She hasn't been in Columbus for very long, just a little more than a year, and she came to OSU from Alicante, Spain.  Travelling is one of her favorite hobbies, and her favorite trip since arriving in the USA was to the East Coast with her parents and two sisters.  "It was awesome to be reunited in such a special occasion," she exclaims.

When she's not studying or travelling, Celia enjoys movies, cooking, dancing, laughing and hanging out with friends and family.  One of her guilty pleasures is watching and partaking in live theatre.  When asked what she would love to do in life, she admits, "I've always wanted to be an actress!"
