Dr. José O. Díaz is Associate Curator for Special Collections and Latin American and Iberian Studies Librarian at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. In that capacity, José is responsible for special collections in all areas of American history and for activities such as reference, public programming, and collection development. He is also responsible for the acquisition of Latin American and Iberian materials for the Library's general collection. Dr. Díaz is the Special Collections' liaison to the History Department, teaches courses in public history and American fraternalism, and serves on the Latin American Studies Center's Advisory Board. Jose's research interests include 19th century American history, fraternalism, modern Latin American history, and public history. He just concluded a three year term on the University Senate and one year as chair of the Senate’s Diversity Committee. He currently serves on the Senate's Rules Committee and on the Council on Libraries and Information Technology (COLIT).
