Clara Zanirato graduated from UNESP (Brazil) University of the State of São Paulo, with a B.A. in Translation Studies (English and Italian). The focus of her research while Brazil was Postmodern 21st Century Literatures and Cultures, and also Cyberpunk Literature. She is currently taking her Ph.D. in Studies of the Portuguese-Speaking World. Her main focus is to research the contributions of Japanese diaspora to Brazilian and Peruvian identities.

She is a M.A. Graduate Teaching Associate for Portuguese and Spanish languages, Brazilian culture and literature; and she is also a professional translator (Portuguese and English). She also teaches English as Second Language and Portuguese as Second Language (beginner to advanced).
