Irene Ramos Arbolí

Spanish Lecturer

I am originally from Sevilla, Spain. I graduated with my B.A. from the Universidad de Sevilla.
I spent 3 years teaching Spanish at Ohio University, where I received my M.A. on Spanish and then spent three semesters completing a M.A. in Hispanic Linguistics at North Carolina State University, where I also taught Spanish.

After half a year teaching at Metro Early College High School, I am very excited to start my new journey at OSU. This is my sixth year in the United States, and I love to continue learning about the culture and the English language.

My areas of interest include (but are not limited to) phonetics and phonology (Eng. and Spanish), second language learning, and bilingual education. I am currently starting with my doctoral thesis on Eng-Spanish bilingual teenagers' discourse and their competence in the L2 language.
