The Spanish & Portuguese Colloquium and OSUCHiLL 2020 are excited to announce the presentation by the OSUCHiLL 2020 keynote speaker Dr. Whitney Chappell (University of Texas at San Antonio) on Friday, October 30. The presentation, titled Confronting our own linguistic biases: An exploration of heritage speakers’ sociophonetic perception, deals with how linguistic research can be a valuable tool to counter linguistic discrimination. This event is open to the public.
