Dr. Frederick Luis Aldama, Distinguished University Professor at OSU, has been featured in The Columbus Dispatch's article, "Latino culture at heart of monthlong celebration." In the article, Dr. Aldama speaks to the complicated feelings that many in the Latinx community have about Latino Heritage Month. He states, "'Of course, it’s important to shine this intense light on our contributions to the social tissue of this country,' he said, relaying their perspective. '(But) it’s still a Band-Aid. … If all of our contributions and our presence as folks of color in this country were a part of the general narrative of this country, then we wouldn’t have to shine this special light on us and only one month out of the year.'"
