"Aspects of Latin American Spanish Dialectology" Book Cover

A new edited volume of the Aspects of Latin American Spanish Dialectology has been edited in honor of Dr. Terrell A. Morgan. The volume serves as a means of celebrating an amazing friend, advisor, and human being, who has dedicated his career to teaching graduate and undergraduate students, performed key research in the field, and helped to further pedagogy in the classroom through his textbooks, seminars, and websites.

During his time with the department, he served as the the founder and Director of the Summer Seminars Abroad for Spanish Teachers (SSAST), a program which has introduced K-16 educators to both Hispanic linguistics and less-commonly taught languages in immersion contexts on three continents since 1991. He was also the Director of the Ohio Hispanic Heritage Project, which was launched by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese in 2013. From 2015 to 2020, Dr. Morgan was the Director of the Center for Latin American Studies. SPPO is extremely grateful for Dr. Morgan's many contributions to the department and we are thrilled about this volume that has been edited in his honor.
