Research intern Kai Perez of Metro High School successfully concluded their research internship with Dr. Anna Babel and the Spanish at COSI team. Along with graduate students Melissa Nieves Rivera, Ileana Perez, and Lauren Miranda, Kai visited the Language Pod at COSI, trained with the informal science education team, read academic articles, interviewed undergraduate and graduate students, and traveled around Columbus to bring language science demonstrations to Spanish-speaking neighborhoods and groups.
Kai’s final poster presentation, pictured below, focused on “Fixing Gaps in Informal Science Education for Latinx Individuals.” Congratulations, Kai!
