Andrew (Andy) is a first-year PhD student in Hispanic Linguistics. His research interests include phonetics and phonology, sociophonetics, and contact linguistics. Andy graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2025 with degrees in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Spanish. He spent a year studying and working in Quito, Ecuador, where he became interested in the Quechua-Spanish interface and dialectal variation. Most recently, he worked as a research assistant studying climate resilience in Spanish-speaking immigrant communities in northern Arizona.
