Gabriel is a Bolivian-Brazilian Ph.D. candidate in the Latin American program. He completed a B.A. in communications, focusing on literature, and an MA focusing on Bolivian comics and urban violence. Recently, his main research interests have been focused on the dictatorship period in Latin America with a main focus on the Bolivian and Andean regions. He addresses topics like politics of memory and oblivion, the discourse of development, modernization, globalization, and such. He works with different cultural expressions like novels, films, music, comics, etc. which help to integrate theory and practice.
