Gabriel is a Ph.D. candidate in the Latin American program. He completed a B.A. in communications, focused on literature, and an MA on Bolivian comics and urban violence. His main research interests have recently been on the dictatorship period in Latin America, with a primary focus on the Bolivian and Andean regions. He addresses topics like the politics of memory and oblivion, literature and politics, the discourse of development, modernization, globalization, and such. He works with different cultural expressions like novels, films, music, comics, etc., which help to integrate theory and practice.
