Pedro is a first-year PhD student in Latin American Cultural and Literary Studies with focuses in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Latine Studies, and Memory Studies. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Health, & Society and Latino & Latina Studies from Vanderbilt University.
His undergraduate research examined the history of the Chicane Feminist Movement between the 14th and 20th Centuries to highlight and retell the lost histories, symbolisms, and figures that have been silenced previously. This was done through using contemporary interpretations of Feminist Theory, Critical Race Theory, and Queer Studies. His research interests include Contemporary Latin American, Caribbean, and Latine Literature, Critical Race Theory, Feminist Theory and Praxis, Queer Studies, and Border/Immigration Studies and Symbolisms.

In addition, Pedro was awarded the 2025 Fondation de France Claude Pichois Grant through the Fondation de France, where he conducted a comparative analysis of Feminist movements titled, "Variations and Unities from Transnational Divas of Feminisms", where he used lens of French Feminism, Quebecois Feminism, and Chilean Feminism through the works from Charles Baudelaire, Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, Nicole Brossard, and Isabel Allende as the focus of his research. Through his investigation, he highlighted the emphasis of the feminine body and representation as a form of commentary towards patriarchal biases through the focus of narratives, gynecological memory, and violence of the feminine body.

Outside of the program, Pedro loves to read and gives his thoughts on Fable, watch YouTube videos about Books (a way to keep the TBR going!), and write poetry!
