Graduation Information
Your Undergraduate Degree: Steps to Apply for Graduation
- Apply during the term prior to the term in which you intend to graduate or early during the term in which you intend to graduate. Meet with your advisor to verify that your major requirements are complete.
- If you have not consulted with your advisor, please contact him or her to schedule an appointment prior to filing your application.
- If you need a signed Minor Program Form for a Spanish, Spanish for Business, Portuguese, or Andean and Amazonian Studies minor, please contact Brooklee Boots at boots.14@osu.edu for assistance.
- Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor to file your graduation application.
- After you meet with your Arts and Sciences academic advisor and your graduation application is on file, prepare for the OSU commencement ceremony and consider participating in our department ceremony on Saturday. May 9th, 2026! Details to RSVP below.

SPPO Graduation and Awards Ceremony
We are excited to invite AU25 and SP26 graduating Spanish & Portuguese majors and minors to our May 2026 graduation event. We will also briefly honor our newly minted PhD students. If you would like to participate, please fill out the form below by Monday, May 4th at 5:00pm.
The SPPO graduation ceremony will take place on May 9th, 2025 at 9:00 AM, Location TBD.
Following the ceremony, we will have a reception with music, light refreshments and donuts. This is a great time to enjoy your family and mingle with faculty, peers, and the Keynote Speaker.
