Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza Receives OSU's 2020 Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award

Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza

Congratulations to Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza who won one of the university's 2020 Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Awards that “honor individuals who have demonstrated success in mentoring undergraduates in their research and/or creative inquiry endeavors.”

Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza has mentored many undergraduates --among other ways, through the collaborative Our Voices/Nuestras Voces project on second language acquisition of pronunciation.  Through the project, students investigate "the process of learning the sounds of second language (L2) Spanish by English native speakers (L1)."  Many of the students who have been involved in that project have gone on to receive grants and scholarships and/or present their research at professional fora.

You can find out more information about Dr. Rebeka Campos-Astorkiza's project on the Our Vocies/Nuestras Voces web page on the OSU website.
