Congratulations to SPPO graduate student Mikel Bermello Isusi on being chosen as one of the six recipients of the Global Arts + Humanities Society of Fellows Small Grant for Cross-Disciplinary Graduate Research!

Mikel will be working on a creative and academic project titled “Un espejo roto.” The project combines a creative approach to issues of sexual identity and sexuality through an autobiographical reflection and scholarly analysis of diverse media. As part of the grant, Mikel will participate in a series of Digital Dialogues that will bring together artists, scholars and activists working in a range of disciplines aligning with the Fellows current theme of Human Rights: Pasts and Futures. Mikel’s work will be a great contribution to these dialogues and to an area of academic inquiry that is in need of more representation.
