Paola Enríquez Duque is a PhD candidate in Hispanic Linguistics. Her main research interests are the outcomes of language contact in the Andean region, particularly in Ecuador. She works on linguistic analysis of morphosyntactic contact features and critical analysis of linguistic practices in contexts of contact between hegemonic and minoritized languages. Currently, she focuses on the Spanish of Quito and the speakers' awareness of the contributions of Kichwa in shaping the grammar of this Spanish variety.
